New Director of Religious Education

Tuesday, June 13

We are pleased to announce our new Director of Religious Education, Laura Carpenter. She is currently a member of a Unitarian Universalist fellowship in Tennessee, and she is one of those folks who has realized that her deepest commitments align with Humanism.

Laura has worked developing curricula and as an instructor. She has experience as an event coordinator, an activities coordinator, and a volunteer coordinator for several nonprofits. She has taught science, theater, outdoor skills, marine biology, snorkeling, skim boarding, and boogie boarding.

Laura has worked with the National Park Service, the National Geographic Society, and several educational institutions. Her work with nonprofits includes Moms Clean Air Force, Hands on Science Center, Kids Ecology Corps, Funky Fish Ocean Adventure Camp, Outdoor Science School, and Real Nature Environmental Farm.

Laura and outgoing DRE Charlie Krysinski will be working together the last days of July to ensure a smooth transition.
