The Fall Equinox occurs at the peak of the harvest season. As we celebrate the abundance of Autumn, the Seasonal Celebrations Team invites you to participate in our Fall Food Drive

On September 21, when we celebrate Fall during the Sunday assembly, we will also collect non-perishable food items for the Groveland Food Shelf. This community resource is housed within Plymouth Congregational Church, the downtown church where volunteers from FUS cook and serve dinner on the second Sunday of each month. Our guests are folks who are unhoused or otherwise in need of a good solid meal.  Some of the food items served at these meals have been provided by the food shelf.  We look forward to the chance to return the favor by helping to replenish their shelves.

All non-perishable food donations are welcome. The most popular items chosen by food shelf clients are coffee, cooking oil, canned meats and fish, beans, and peanut butter.

Please bring your food donations on the morning of Sunday, September 21st, and place them on the designated table in the FUS gallery. If you cannot come to FUS that morning, donations can be left at the FUS office 10am-3pm Tuesday-Friday and Sunday mornings through Sept 23rd.

If you would like to make a financial contribution to the Groveland Food Shelf – instead or in addition to a food donation – the monies collected during the offering at FUS on Sunday, September 21st, will also benefit the Groveland Food Shelf. If you wish to make your monetary donation to the food shelf at another time, go to the FUS Give page and check out the various ways you can make a financial contribution.  If you use the online donation form, choose “Give to unlisted – add a note” in the first drop down box.  Then, after you hit “continue” write “Food Drive” in the Comments section of the next dialog box.

Thanks in advance for your contributions.  We look forward to celebrating Autumn with you on Sunday, September 21!
