Spring Equinox Assembly & Brunch

Last Sunday we had a blizzard; this coming Saturday, the predicted temperature is 70 degrees. Go figure! You never know what you are going to get when it comes to the weather this time of year.  But the steady motion of the earth around the sun remains consistent.  Spring will arrive at 9:47am on Friday, March 20 no matter what the weather. After a particularly harsh winter when we constantly worried about what else might happen in our cities, the certainty that (astronomical) spring will come to our hemisphere EXACTLY when it is supposed to provides comfort — and that is something to celebrate!

Our Spring Equinox celebration will take place this Sunday, March 22 at 10:30am. The intergenerational assembly will include a children’s procession, greetings from Air, Fire, Water, and Earth bringing their springtime flair, our delightful Reader’s Theater Skit — “Searching for Spring,” along with seasonal poetry and music. After the assembly, please join us for a festive Spring Brunch and mimosas! (See graphic for menu.)

This is not a ticketed event. Suggested donations to help cover the cost of this not-so-mini meal are $10 for adults and $7 for kids, with a family maximum of $30.

We missed our time together when the snow got in the way of gathering last Sunday. The Seasonal Celebrations Team hopes you will be able to make it to FUS this Sunday for our community celebration of spring.  We’ll see you there!
