“FUS Covenant Love is the spirit of this place, and service its law; this is our covenant, to dwell together in peace, to seek the truth in love, and to help one another.”
There are abundant volunteer opportunities at First Unitarian Society. Invest your time in projects you are passionate about while enjoying the company of like-minded members and contributing to our FUS community. The hard work of our volunteers makes FUS a stronger community!
Everyone is welcome to join our all-volunteer Chalice Choir, which normally sings once or twice a month.
Greeters
FUS has lots going on every week. Help welcome visitors to our building & our Sunday Assemblies, and be an ambassador for our Humanist values with a warm greeting.
Gardeners
Help beautify the FUS grounds in spring and summer.
A/V Team
The AV team creates audio and video of our Sunday Assemblies and Special Events. If you are a creative individual with an eye and ear for AV production, or are curious to learn more about the process, we’d love to hear from you!
Assembly Volunteers
Our Sunday gatherings are supported by those who light the chalice, ring the opening bell, pass the offering baskets, do a reading, or help with a ritual. Once you’re trained, these are tasks that you can sign up to do as your calendar allows.
E2 Volunteering
Are you passionate about working with youth to explore humanism, ethical development, and the arts?? We need help with classroom assistance, set up and take-down, supply room organization, and more.
Memorial Hospitality
This wonderful volunteer group provides a welcoming presence in the kitchen for grieving loved ones at the Memorials & Celebrations of Life hosted here. We don’t ask you to cook, just organize the various catered food offerings and beverages for the families with a few other members and staff.
Bookstore Staff
The First Unitarian Society bookstore has tons of great titles and is volunteer-run.
Visit us Sundays 11:30 – 12:30 or online.
