Common-Sense Gun Safety

The U.S. has suffered more than 70 mass shootings since the beginning of the year. Lives have been lost, and survivors and onlookers including the investigating police have been traumatized. The Minnesota State House has been debating several bills focused on gun safety. HF14 requires Universal background checks for all gun purchases including private sales and ownership transfers. HF15 allows authorities to temporarily confiscate guns from people found to be dangerous to themselves and/or others. This is popularly known as a Red Flag Bill or Extreme Risk Protection Order. These two bills can make Minnesotans safer and have little risk or inconvenience to gun owners.

Please call your State Representative and Speaker of the Minnesota House, Melissa Hortman (651-296-4280).

Message: I urge you to vote for HF14 to require universal background checks for all gun purchases and for HF15 to allow authorities to temporarily confiscate guns from people found to be dangerous to themselves and others.
