Our Team

The First Unitarian Society of Minneapolis maintains a small but capable staff. While providing professional and administrative leadership, they also work closely with lay leaders and volunteers to realize the mission and values of The Society.

Rev. Dr. David Breeden, Senior Minister

David Breeden

Rev. Dr. David Breeden is Senior Minister at First Unitarian Society of Minneapolis. David has an MFA in poetry from the Writers Workshop at the University of Iowa, a PhD from the Center for Writers at the University of Southern Mississippi, and a Masters of Divinity from Meadville Lombard Theological School in Chicago.

David serves on the board of the UU Humanist Association and is chair of the Education Committee of the American Humanist Association. He regularly blogs on Humanism and freethought at Medium.com.

David has published poetry, novels, and theology. Many of his books are available here.

Rev. Jim Foti, Assistant Minister

Rev. Jim Foti joined the Society as assistant minister in August 2014, after serving for a year as the Society’s Consultant for Small Group ministries. His responsibilities include pastoral care and adult programming.

Jim is a 2013 graduate of Meadville Lombard Theological School in Chicago and served as a ministerial intern at Unity Church-Unitarian in St. Paul and the St. Croix Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in Taylors Falls, MN. Jim was ordained by the First Unitarian Society in April 2015.

Rev. Kelli Clement, Assistant Minister

Kelli was ordained as a Unitarian Universalist minister in 2011. At First Unitarian Society her responsibilities include social justice and welcome. She is a frequent wedding and memorial service officiant. In a new partnership, Kelli serves as part-time minister for the St. Croix Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin.

Allison Wyeth, Director of Religious Education

Alison Wyeth

Allison joined the staff as Director of Religious Education in 2018. Her background is in education and program management in both non-profit and for-profit sectors. She has been an educator in the public school system, teaching U.S. History to middle school students, and been credentialed as a school administrator.

In her role at First Unitarian, Allison has overall responsibility for programming for children and youth in cooperation with the Religious Education Committee.

Timothy Roehl, Director of Facilities

Timothy Roehl

Tim’s duties include overall supervision of the maintenance of our building and property as well as coordinating rentals of our facilities for a variety of events.

As a licensed general contractor for his company Urban Habitat in Minneapolis, he has worked on many of the historic homes around the city lakes. In Carmel, CA he was the general manager of the Carmel Mission Foundation, and the event manager for the Carmel Bach Festival.

Kate Goodrich, Office Manager

Allan Callander, Finance Director (First Unitarian Society and Foundation)

Allan has primary oversight of finances, including accounts payable, deposits, monthly reconciliation, employee benefits, and payroll management.


Tracy Yue, Director of Food Hospitality

Tracy coordinates Sunday morning mini-meals and other catering needs.


Jeffrey Stirling, Orchestra Conductor

Rehearses and conducts the First Unitarian Society orchestra; plans Music Sunday programs with Barbara Brooks.
