As long as our building is closed for the COVID pandemic, the FUS Alliance will not be meeting. What follows is a description of our historical practices.
Since 1915 the Alliance, made up of members and friends of the First Unitarian Society, has focused on service, learning and fellowship. All are invited to attend Alliance meetings on the first Wednesday of October, November, April, May and June. Meetings feature a speaker on a contemporary topic beginning at 11:00. If you wish to stay for the lunch at noon, you’ll need to make a reservation by the previous Sunday. All are welcome. Advance meeting notices are sent to Alliance members and announced in the Society’s publications.
The Alliance also engages in fundraising for the benefit of the Society. For instance, we sponsor two “Super Roll Sundays” each year following the morning assembly. With proceeds benefiting various needs. There are also periodic bake sales with proceeds dedicated to supporting landscaping work around our beautiful building.
Annual Alliance membership for a person or family is $30. Please write a check to “First Unitarian Society” with comment line “Alliance” and deliver to the office.
