Happy Spring Equinox!

Compared to other seasons, winter is a time that we are more likely to choose to stay at home. Icy temperatures, snowy roads, late sunrises, and dark evenings all foster more decisions to not go out and to choose virtual options over leaving the comforts of home.  Although this past winter was milder than usual, many of us have still been operating to some degree in “winter mode.”

Celebrating the Spring Equinox is the perfect time to make the choice to GO OUT!  It’s time to enjoy the warmer air, stronger sun, and longer days.  And it’s time to reconnect with the community you may not have seen as much over the last few months.

Spring arrives at 10:06pm tonight – Tuesday, March 19 – and some of you may be celebrating in your own ways at home. At FUS, we celebrate the Equinox on a Sunday morning because we know how difficult it would be to gather our community on a weeknight when many have work or school to attend the next day.

Our Spring Equinox celebration will take place this Sunday, March 24, at 10:30am.  The intergenerational program will include reflections on spring, a fun skit, and music by The Eclectics.  After the Assembly, please join us for a delightful Spring Brunch (menu below) and mimosas!   This is not a ticketed event, but suggested donations to help cover costs are $10 for adults and $7 for kids, with a family maximum of $30.

This Sunday, there are no programs scheduled at noontime.  The Seasonal Celebrations Team hopes you will bring the whole family, enjoy the kid-friendly program, and linger over brunch while you reconnect with friends.  We hope to see you there!
